AI Show Director: build a show from a 1-paragraph brief

How the AI Director works, what it can and can't do, and how to get good output.

What it is

AI Show Director is the fastest way to turn a vague intent into a fully-configured show. Tell it who you're honoring, the spirit, the scale, and the judging style; Claude returns a ShowPlan — categories, a weighted rubric, pricing tiers, a submission form, and judging rounds. You apply the plan in one click and get a draft show.

Where it lives

/[org]/director in your dashboard, or click "Start with AI Show Director" on the empty-org hero or homepage CTA.

What it generates

  • Show metadata — name, slug, tagline, description, currency, timezone
  • 5–10 categories sized to the audience
  • A judging rubric with weights summing to 100%
  • 3 pricing tiers (early bird → standard → late) tuned to the audience's purchasing power
  • A submission form with sensible field types per section (nominator → nominee → media → consent)
  • Judging rounds — eligibility, first round, final
  • Notes explaining its choices

How to get good output

The brief form has a few short fields. Be specific:

  • Audience: "indie documentary filmmakers" beats "filmmakers".
  • Spirit: "prestigious + serious; modeled on Sundance Doc" tells Claude more than "professional".
  • Scale: "first year, ~150 entries; expecting 500 by year 3" anchors the pricing.
  • Region: "primarily UK + EU" influences fee currency, timezone, and language.
  • Notes: anything special — sponsorship structure, ceremony date, eligibility quirks.

What it can't do

  • It won't read your existing brand colors / logo — set those in the show's Settings tab after applying.
  • It won't write your eligibility rules verbatim. If you have a complex one ("must have premiered at a non-US festival in calendar year 2026"), spell it out in the Notes; you'll still want to review before opening submissions.
  • It won't connect Stripe or invite judges — those are separate steps.

Cost & privacy

The Director uses Claude under Anthropic's zero-retention, no-training policy. We send only the fields you typed; nothing about your account or other shows. See AI use disclosure.
