Online voting for union officers, ratifications, and member polls.
Email magic-link verification at cast time. Optional public verification log. Per-election pricing so a one-off ratification vote doesn't require an annual contract.
Ballotis is built for polls and non-binding votes. It is not yet set up for elections that require ballot secrecy from the host.
Built for internal union activities
Scope note: Ballotis runs internal + voluntary union votes — officer elections, contract ratifications, committee allocations, strike-authorization advisory polls. NLRB-supervised representation elections (the formal certification / decertification kind) have procedural requirements only the NLRB's own process can satisfy. Consult counsel before using any platform for those.
Email magic-link verification
Each voter clicks a link sent to their inbox before voting.
Single choice, ranked-choice, yes/no
Officer seat as single choice or ranked-choice (instant runoff), ratification or dues amendment as yes/no, committee seats as multiple choice.
Optional public verification log
Turn on the audit chain in the vote settings before voting opens. Members get a receipt token to confirm their vote is in the chain, and anyone can check the published per-option totals.
How it works
Step 1
Create the poll
Officer seat (single choice or ranked-choice), ratification yes/no, or committee multiple choice. Pick the High-Integrity Election preset for email verification and Tor/VPN blocking.
Step 2
Turn on the audit chain
Optional. Switch it on in the vote settings before voting opens.
Step 3
Open and close
Members verify their email with a magic link and vote. When the poll closes, the results are ready, and the public verification page shows the per-option totals if the chain was on.
Frequently asked questions
Can we run an NLRB-supervised representation election on Ballotis?
No — NLRB-supervised representation elections (the formal certification / decertification kind) have specific procedural requirements that only an NLRB-administered process can meet. Ballotis is built for the internal + voluntary union activities that don't carry the NLRB's procedural overhead: officer elections, contract ratification polls, committee allocations, strike-authorization advisory votes, dues-related polls. For anything NLRB-supervised, consult your union's counsel and use the NLRB's own process.
What if a member contests the result?
When the audit chain is on (optional — turn it on in the vote settings before voting opens), every cast ballot is chained to the previous one, so tampering breaks the chain, and anyone can check the published per-option totals against the announced result.
