Voters rank options. Eliminate lowest, redistribute, repeat. Single-winner.
Star rating
1–5 stars per option. Average score wins. Great for fan choice.
Yes / no measure
Binary vote on a proposition.
Ballotis Live
Jackbox-style audience join. Slido-grade polling. Kahoot-style scoring. Audience scans a QR or types a 4-digit code; no app, no signup, no friction.
4-digit room code + QR
Generated server-side via crypto.randomBytes (not Math.random — guessable codes are an audience-crash vector). Recycles when a session ends; falls back to 6-digit if the 4-digit space saturates.
Lobby + waiting room
Per-session participant count, host branding, nickname capture, kicked-state handling. localStorage-pinned device token so a tab reload doesn't fork a new score row.
Presenter view (/present/{CODE})
Server-rendered big screen. Code + QR while in lobby, live bar chart during a question, leaderboard between questions. Auto-themes to Aclamos cinematic when linked to a Show; Ballotis blue otherwise.
Host controls (/host/{CODE})
Mobile-friendly: Open the room → Next question → Show results → End session. Auth-gated to the session's hostUserId server-side.
Quiz scoring + leaderboard
Kahoot-style speed bonus — 100 base points for any correct answer + up to 100 bonus scaled by remaining-time fraction. Live top-10 leaderboard.
SSE realtime stream
Server-Sent Events at /api/ballotis/live/{id}/stream — same Redis fan-out pattern as the ceremony bus. Survives corporate firewalls; browser EventSource auto-reconnects.
Embed (/embed/{CODE})
Chromeless presenter for OBS browser-source, Zoom share-screen, PowerPoint / Keynote iframes. Same theme resolution as /present.
Aclamos audience-choice cue
First-class CueType.AUDIENCE_CHOICE in the ceremony director. Activating the cue auto-spawns a live session from the cue's nominees; on end the winning nomination writes back to Cue.winnerId and the existing reveal-screen animation runs.

Identity, exactly as strict as you need. Each layer is independent — combine the ones your election demands.

Tamper-evident audit chain
Optional — turn it on in the vote settings before voting opens. Every vote is hash-chained to the previous one, so any tampering breaks the chain.
Per-voter receipts
Each voter gets a `bvr_` receipt token to check that their vote is in the chain.
Public verification page
Anyone can check the published per-option totals on /verify/{pollId}. No login. No NDA.
Hash chain
chainHash = sha256(prevChainHash || canonicalVote). Reordering or removing any vote breaks the chain.

Unlimited fan vote
No identity required · CAPTCHA + rate-limited · vote as many times as you like, but bots are blocked. Classic 'fan favorite' style.
