Online voting for HOA polls and member votes.

Replace the awkward Saturday-morning meeting and the spreadsheet recount with an online ballot. Email magic-link verification, an optional public verification log, and per-election pricing so a one-off bylaw amendment doesn't require an annual contract.

Ballotis is built for polls and non-binding votes. It is not yet set up for elections that require ballot secrecy from the host.

Why HOAs choose Ballotis

Email magic-link verification

Each voter clicks a link sent to their inbox before voting.

Ranked-choice, approval, yes/no

Single choice for a board seat, yes/no for a bylaw amendment or budget approval, ranked-choice (instant runoff) for a single-winner office.

Optional public verification log

Turn on the audit chain in the vote settings before voting opens. Owners get a receipt token to confirm their vote is in the chain, and anyone can check the published per-option totals.

How it works

Step 1

Create the poll

Pick the voting method: single choice, yes/no, approval, or ranked-choice. Pick the High-Integrity Election preset for email verification and Tor/VPN blocking.
Step 2

Turn on the audit chain

Optional. Switch it on in the vote settings before voting opens.
Step 3

Open and close

Voters verify their email with a magic link and vote. When the poll closes, the results are ready, and the public verification page shows the per-option totals if the chain was on.

Frequently asked questions

Is online voting valid for an HOA election?

That depends on your association's governing documents (CC&Rs, bylaws) and your state's law. Confirm with your association's counsel before switching from paper.

What about weighted voting based on ownership share?

Not available. Ballots are equal-weight: one vote per voter.

Can homeowners verify their vote was counted without revealing their choice?

When the audit chain is on (optional — turn it on in the vote settings before voting opens), every voter receives a per-vote receipt token at cast time. They can look the token up on the public verification page to confirm their vote is in the chain. Anyone can check the published per-option totals.

What happens when a vote is contested?

When the audit chain is on (optional — turn it on in the vote settings before voting opens), every cast ballot is chained to the previous one, so tampering breaks the chain, and anyone can check the published per-option totals against the announced result.
